General Info

A succulent plant native to the arid regions of Africa and Arabia. It belongs to the Apocynaceae family, which includes other popular houseplants such as the rubber plant and the pothos.

The Desert Rose is known for its thick, swollen trunk, which gives it a unique, tree-like appearance. The plant produces clusters of showy, trumpet-shaped flowers that range in color from white to pink to red, depending on the variety

Watering

This tree will appreciate drying out between waterings

When watering, ensure you are allowing the soil to be thoroughly soaked in order to let all roots be saturated

They are highly susceptible to root rot, so planting in a high draining soil is essential

Light Requirements

The Desert rose will thrive in a spot will all day full sun

A south-facing window is said to be an ideal position for this variety

Keeping a high light level is crucial to the health of the tree, supplementing with a grow light can be necessary during the winter season
