General Info

There are more than two hundred species of shrubs and trees in the hibiscus genus.

The only part of the plant that is steeped is the petals but the whole plant is edible. The petals create a bright red tangy tea containing a very high level of antioxidants and one specific type of antioxidant called anthocyanin.

Watering

They are highly susceptible to root rot, so planting in a high draining soil is essential

Your Hibiscus will need very regular watering, never being allowed to dry out

Light Requirements

The Hibiscus will thrive in a spot will all day full sun

A south-facing window is said to be an ideal position for this variety

Keeping a high light level is crucial to the health of the tree, supplementing with a grow light can be necessary during the winter season
