Succulents are water-retaining tropical plants that thrive in dry conditions. They can grow quickly, though they tend to be small, and take little work to maintain and propogate, making them great practice for those new to plant care. Just like in the desert, succulents require as much sunlight as you can spare them. Also, they require very little water! As such, its soil should be well-draining. The best practice is to thoroughly mist, not water, on a weekly basis. During the winter, watering should be reduced to a monthly cycle.
