Akadama

Akadama is a Japanese professional grade soil constituent, great for bonsai, cacti, succulents, and other indoor tropicals. It is a clay-based soil that darkens while moist, which is a helpful indicator for when to water next, as the colour lightens when dry. It should not be used alone, but should be mixed with other materials, such as pumice, stone, perlite, gravel, etc., to allow drainage. For example, it combines well with Red Lava Rock.
