Black Lava Rock

Black Lava Rock is utilized by bonsai professionals as an inorganic soil constituent, usually alongside Akadama, White Pumice, and Red Lava Rock, but is useful in any soil mix as a constituent for aeration, drainage, and prolonged moisture release. The benefit�of lava rock in soil is its property of�retaining moisture without allowing roots to grow into it. Alongside reserves of moisture,�this material offers�tree roots well-draining�and aerated soil,�without breaking down or compacting, ensuring healthy airflow�within the roots, while preventing water stagnation. This black lava rock has assorted particle sizes up to 5mm.
