General Info

The theory is that the monstera, native

to the Central American rainforest, developed holes in its leaves to

withstand winds and allow water and sunlight to peek through in the

dense forest

A Monstera leaf can't create any extra holes during de lifespan of the

leaf. All gaps already exist when the plant first produces the foliage

Watering

The plant will appreciate drying out slightly between waterings, and then to be watered thoroughly to saturate the soil and roots

When watering, ensure you are allowing the soil to be thoroughly soaked in order to let all roots be saturated

They are highly susceptible to root rot, so planting in a high draining soil is essential

Light Requirements

Providing your tree with a spot where it is exposed to some direct light will be the best

Make sure to avoid exposed to direct afternoon sun, as it can easily burn the foliage

A semi shaded spot will provide ideal light for your Monstera
